Boundary Coffee Shop celebrates 15 years

Last Friday (8th May) was 15 years since Boundary coffee shop was started at Alderbury Village Hall by David Marshall, Sarah Hutchby, Jane Foster and Andy Larkham as part of St. Mary’s Alderbury’s outreach to the village.

A day of celebrations was held, with free cake at the regular morning coffee shop and in the afternoon, a party for all those who have been involved over the 15 years either in serving or providing cakes. A good time was had by all.

Over the years almost £30,000 from the profits has been gifted to Church projects, Alderbury and West Grimstead school, Explorers, Scouts, Cubs and Beavers, WI and other village organisations.

A Massive “Well Done!” to everyone involved.

Easter Gardens

Some lovely Easter gardens were made at Winterslow St John’s ‘Family Time’ on Good Friday. We heard the Easter Account from triumphal entry to Jerusalem through last supper and trial and crucifixion, then burial in the tomb, then resurrection in the garden, all dramatically played out with small ‘peg people’ – we were all captivated. Then we each built Easter Gardens collecting greenery and flowers from plants in the churchyards and tying sticks together to make crosses. Happy Easter!

Palm Sunday Procession

We had a wonderful team-wide Palm Sunday service with two ‘donkeys’ (Shetland Ponies) in Whiteparish this year. The weather was a perfect spring like day, and we processed waving our palm crosses and branches as we sang all the way into church. Thanks to all who made this a joyous start to Holy Week.

Pumpkins of Faith

Sara Sankey at St Pete’s Pitton had a great idea to shine the message of ‘Peace’, ‘Hope’ and ‘Joy’ into the churchyard at Pitton. Pumpkins were carved not with scary images but with words of life that knowing Jesus brings. They shone out for all passers in the night to see.
